Glider season started
The glider seanson in Deelen started 3./4. March and there were already the first usable thermals yesterday (1200m base, up to 2 m/s). Jason had a nice >2h flight with his K6 and I did 2 starts on glider planes from the Deelen club (unlucky me only 15min in sum).

Dear all,
had a lovely flight to Sondrio, with spectacular views to the Alps from the Gotthard-Pass route. Initially I was in 15000 ft, but after the Gotthard I started a 50 nm descend towards Sondtio, with a clouds lining the mountains. But I was so tired after the flight that I fell asleep right after the (excellent) dinner.

The descission was taken to move the LS4 summer stalling from Terlet to Deelen airfield. This is a significant cost saving for the club. Access to the plane is possible between 8:00 to 0:00. Outside of these times the airfield is closed.
Being a military controlled field, all people wanting to enter have to be registered with the military. The most practicable way to do this is to be a member of the Deelen glider club. They offer the possibility of “Donateur” membership for 10€ per year. The membership includes access to the field, but does not include usage of the club facilities or services. It was introduced to allow parents, not being interested in flying, to bring and pick up their flying enthusiastic children.
More information on the Deelen glider club and further membership options can be found on Zweefvliegclub Deelen
